June 2018 Astrological Energy Update

June 2018 Astrology

BACKGROUND ENERGIES

The important background energy for June is the retrogrades, Uranus entering Taurus, and the Full Moon in Sagittarius. Our retrograde planets are the same as they have been for a few months now: Jupiter in Scorpio, Saturn in Capricorn, and Pluto in Capricorn. I’ve come to call this trio “Wake-Up” energy because this makes us look at ourselves from an angle that isn’t the ‘pretty’ side. Parts of us that we had forgotten are coming up to the surface to be healed and released. We are ‘waking up’ to the fact that we can no longer live our lives the way we used to. Our paths have reached a fork in the road. A choice has to be made: find new coping mechanisms or heal, change, and evolve as a person.

No matter what you pick, change is coming, and it’s coming in the form of the planet of surprises—Uranus. While Uranus is always shaking things up, his method is shifting from Aries to Taurus. This change means a greater emphasis on nature, our bodies, and the physical world all around. If you know anything about New Earth and the crystallization of the body, you could be very excited about this placement because it should speed this process up. For those of you who aren’t familiar with New Earth, it’s part of the belief that the Earth has its own ascension journey into the 5th dimension. Whether you know about that or not, the most important thing to remember with Uranus is that it always chooses to identify with change. This doesn’t mean the past is irrelevant or bad, just that Uranus is the planet of the new and fresh. There are other planets to honor tradition and roots.

Our last lunation was a Sagittarius Full Moon! Through this lunation, we had the opportunity to re-calibrate our personality to align with our higher self. A beautiful Grand Water Trine that helped our connection to the divine flow with success. This Grand Water Trine lasts throughout June. This aspect is ‘Initiating us by Water.’ Its goal is to help you become more attuned to your divine nature. We can help the process that is going on all month by dislodging lower vibrational material within us and becoming aware of the subtleties in our daily life. If we can take pride and joy in mundane things like washing dishes or going to the grocery store, then we train ourselves to see the beauty in every part of life. We then flow effortlessly and gracefully through life. What more could we want if every part of our lives gave us joy and satisfaction? I’m not asking you to go through life as a happy zombie where nothing upsets you. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Become more aware and attune yourself to the endless love that permeates all things. Start small. Appreciate one thing at a time.

JUNE 13th at 2:43 pm CT – NEW SUPERMOON AT 21° GEMINI

Just as the New Moon seems to turn inward and does not shine her light upon us, this is a time for us to look within for personal growth, to self-reflect, and to set intentions for the upcoming month. A New Moon in Gemini asks us to work with our mental body by soothing and quieting our thoughts, anxiety, and preconceived notions. Gemini is also one of the most playful zodiacs, so this a wonderful time to look at life through the eyes of a child. Even if you don’t normally feel the effects of the lunations, you might feel this one because this is a Supermoon. This means the Moon is literally closer to the Earth. Because of this, tides are stronger, and Moon has more influence on us. Remember, no matter how close the Moon is, you always have your free will and your personal power. If you are sensitive to the Moon, or you don’t like Gemini, just ask that this Supermoon be gentle on you.

We talked generally about Grand Water Trines in the Background information section. More specifically, this Grand Water Trine is between Pallas Athena in Cancer, Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces. The Jupiter in retrograde and Neptune that is still direct give us a way to re-calibrate our moral compass by connecting us to that divine aspect. With Cancer’s Pallas Athena in the mix, we can dissolve and wash away these boundaries that block us from Source Energy. Blocks like our beliefs that every day is not sacred or that you have to become worthy of blessings. No one benefits from beliefs like these. There are so many beliefs we hold on to that are putting layers between us and the divine. At one time, those beliefs might have served us—even liberated us from other destructive ideas, but all too often, we keep those mindsets past their expiration date, and they become toxic.

On this New Moon, connect with your higher self and compare. Ask yourself, ‘what is holding me back right now from becoming more like my higher self?’ Then tell whatever the block is to upgrade or leave. If it does not upgrade I use this format to free myself from toxic mindsets: ‘Thank you    (fill in the block)    for serving me and teaching me. I hope I have served you well too. It is time for us to go our separate ways. With love and gratitude, I release you, NOW!’ I take a moment after this to feel into my body and my energy to observe the change in me. How does it feel to be me without that block? Is there more I need to release? If so, I do this again and again until I can feel that all the blocks and resistances no longer exist within me.

The T-Square in Cardinal is between Saturn in Capricorn, Chiron in Aries, and Mercury in Cancer. Cardinal energy is all about restarts, rebirths, and initiations. This is really shaking things up. This change is happening to you and around you.  In nature, some new lives have to be forced like a bird breaking its way out of an egg. While other life must play a less active role emerging into the world, like birth. Imagine a human baby taking the same active role as a hacking chick. Now, stop imagining that because it’s terrifying. Because Saturn is in retrograde and this is a New Moon, this is much more like birthing than hacking. My suggestion is to be as passive to this process as possible. Take a back seat and enjoy experiencing being aware of your change. You can set the intentions for this to go as smoothly and as gently as possible, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to put a goal on this change. Trust in that divine connection. Trust in your higher self. Let your new identity tell you what you are and let go of your yesterday self.

JUNE 17th – FATHER’S DAY

We still have the Grand Water Trine with the addition of Mercury in Cancer merged with Pallas Athena. Communication should not be an issue on Father’s Day, just like it wasn’t on Mother’s Day. This Father’s Day should be fairly predictable because of the Fixed Grand Cross. This aspect is between Venus in Leo, Uranus in Taurus, Mars in Aquarius, and Jupiter in Scorpio. If the status quo is not something you are looking forward to, this aspect can also fortify you. You can feel more grounding and stable! Happy Father’s Day!

JUNE 18th – NEPTUNE RETROGRADE

We have a new face on Team Retrograde! Neptune is joining in on the fun. This is the planet of art, music, illusion, mystery, and everything etheric or unseen. She’ll be retrograding on June 18th at 16° Pisces and then going direct on November 24 at 13° Pisces. Expect a lot to be cleared up in this time period. To benefit the most from this placement, have a list of confusing things in your life and ask for them to be cleared up. In fact, just write everything down like goals, self-reflection, worldviews, etc. At this time, there’s such lovely clarity. If we record it, we have the opportunity to benefit from this energy long after it’s gone. This addition to the “Wake-Up” retrograde energy will bring some clarity to the questions that have been piling up. On the day of the retrograde, we have all of the aspects of Father’s Day plus a Grand Earth Trine. The Moon slipped into Virgo for just a day to make this lovely aspect with Saturn in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus. This is very stabilizing, grounding, and reassuring! It also brings in a lot of Earth energy, so we quite literally will have disillusions about the Earth, and for that matter, the water too (we still have that water trine.) This is an opportunity to get clarity on the status of our planet and its health.

On a different note, sometimes we create ambiguity to feel better about reality. It is important to understand that the truth is sobering. Because Neptune is in Pisces, a lot of the disillusionment will probably focus on Piscean qualities like victimhood, loss of self, spirituality. If this retrograde hits you hard, just breathe. Know that it’s okay not to have to world figured out. There is nothing wrong with shifting perspective and taking a new stance. For the majority, this will create massive change in how you interact with your reality. Just be flexible—it’s so much better to live in truth. There’s an oracle card that says “Peace comes when you realize the only thing real is love.” It took me a lot of meditations to understand this at a surface level, but this is one sentence has been a very big anchor for me as my own mindsets have changed. May it might help you as well.

JUNE 22nd – LITHA

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere!) Food and plant medicine harvested on this day is said to have attributes of the Sun due to the abundance of sunlight. Traditionally, plants harvested on this day were preserved and eaten on Yule (the shortest day of the year.) In this way, they would ‘bottle up’ the power of the Sun for a cold winter’s day. As we feel the full force of the Sun, we celebrate the abundance of life and light. This year, we have the Grand Water Trine and Grand Fixed Cross just like Father’s Day. A significant difference: there’s a Waxing Gibbous Moon in Libra. Waxing Gibbous means the Moon is becoming a full moon. This Moon phase in Libra means we have a sense of increase or abundance in the people we love. What a lovely Moon for a holiday centered around abundance and community.

JUNE 27th at 11:53 pm CT – CAPRICORN FULL MOON

Just as the Full Moon appears to be brimming with light, we too have more than enough. It is time for us to freely give what doesn’t serve us. A Full Moon in Capricorn makes it easier to release physical items, especially things that gave us status or power. To keep in theme with the Gemini New Moon, what is keeping you from being that child-like self? Quite often, we lose our connection with our inner child when we take on responsibilities – trading our inner power for our outer power. Because the Moon is conjunct Saturn and Pluto, it’s a wonderful time to release all that those retrogrades have brought up inside of you. There are TWO Fixed T-Squares that are giving us the energy to rebuild our lives and ourselves. They are stabilizing and grounding us.

The Grand Water Trine has switched from Mercury and Pallas Athena in Cancer to the Sun in Cancer. Its substitution has an interesting effect on us. With Mercury and Pallas here, we were trying to conceptualize this connection to source that Jupiter and Neptune brought. By replacing this with the Sun, we have not only stopped trying to logically understand this energy; we are taking pride in our amplified connection. It shows that most people will come to love and accept this aspect. It really is an ‘Initiation by Water,’ and we come out just swimmingly. Yes, that’s a pun, but it’s true. No matter how you integrate this energy, the moment you understand source energy with your heart instead of your head you shine. So, don’t over think it, and just accept. Accept what is happening, accept who you are, accept everyone around you without exceptions. This is one part of loving unconditionally.  When you love unconditionally, you embody the Sun’s essence which gives its light to everyone and everything in its path.

Remember, the sky is always on your side.
